The DQHL·GDYS was established at the foot of Leinong Mountain in Dongyang City, Zhejiang Province. Since its establishment by Wu Tengfei, a master of Chinese woodcarving art, it has always adhered to the concept of “craftsmanship” and has become a leading brand in the domestic classical mahogany furniture industry, constructively proposing the concept of “Dongzuo” style. The establishment of the “Fine Carving” school of craftsmanship has promoted the integrated development of Dongyang woodcarving craftsmanship and mahogany furniture, pioneering the path of high-quality development in the Chinese mahogany furniture industry. Its works have won many awards at home and abroad, and the DQHL·GDYS has also received numerous social honors.

DQHL·GDYS is also a graduate internship base for many universities such as Nanjing Forestry University and Central South University of Forestry and Technology. DQHL·GDYS attracts countless mahogany enthusiasts to visit and has become a must-visit place when buying mahogany and engaging in cultural tourism in Dongyang. It is a golden business card for the local government to promote mahogany culture and art.

Entering DQHL·GDYS is like entering an art palace, experiencing the beauty of the leisure tea-drinking space in “Yixian Court”, and feeling the virtue-cultivating effect of “Hanlin School”. The Huanghuali Hall, Red Sandalwood Hall, Ming-style Hall, Fine Carving Hall, and Home Furnishing Hall, from the spatial designs of different artistic styles, satisfy the aesthetics and needs of different guests. During the visit, one can encounter the masterpieces that took “ten years to make one piece and five years to create one object” at any time. Furniture, spatial design, and exhibition art are presented here.

Wu Tengfei Art Museum is hailed as “the art palace of Chinese classical furniture” by many experts and scholars. In it, one can perceive the master’s profound accumulation in culture, art, life, and design. The “Leinong Mountain House” study on the ninth floor is the spiritual source and driving force for the development of the DQHL·GDYS. “Choose one thing and devote a lifetime to it” is a true portrayal of Wu Tengfei’s career. He takes the “Eight Virtues Culture” and “Standards for Students” as the core ideology of enterprise management, which is also a guideline that the entire company abides by and a compulsory course for management personnel. “Managing the enterprise with virtue” and “innovating with the Book of Changes” have contributed to the development of the DQHL·GDYS.

In response to the transformation of the current development environment of Chinese furniture, Wu Tengfei actively explored and contemplated, and in 2019, founded the “Shangxi” contemporary Chinese furniture brand. Relying on the profound development foundation and spiritual context of Daqing Hanlin, inheriting and innovating, and moving forward hand in hand, he is committed to creating a new chapter in the development of contemporary Chinese furniture.
