Triangle was founded in 1963 and is under the Guangzhou Light Industry Group, a well-known brand in the Chinese home appliance market. Initially focused on rice cookers, it has expanded its range to include electric pressure cookers, electric kettles, cookware, multifunctional blenders, food processors, induction cookers, refrigerators, washing machines, and other diverse household appliances.

The Triangle’s rice cookers represent one of China’s earliest brands in this category. In 1963, in response to international market demands, Guangzhou Light Industry Group collaborated with the Guangzhou Rice Cooker Factory to develop and subsequently introduced rice cookers under the brand name “Triangle” in over 80 countries and regions worldwide. By the 1970s, Triangle rice cookers were renowned in Southeast Asia and gained significant acclaim. Chinese consumers could only acquire Triangle rice cookers through overseas Chinese channels or special currency exchange markets. It can be said that the Triangle played a pivotal role in revolutionizing cooking from traditional coal and wood-based methods to electric-powered appliances.

Even today, the Triangle remains a well-known name in the Chinese home appliance market. It has evolved from a single rice cooker product to a diverse range of household appliances, including electric pressure cookers, electric kettles, cookware, multifunctional blenders, food processors, induction cookers, electric ceramic stoves, sterilizers, electric heaters, dehumidifiers, steamers, electric medicine pots, electric ovens, range hoods, gas stoves, gas water heaters, refrigerators, and washing machines.

Since June 2017, the Guangzhou Light Industry Smart Home Appliance Industrial Cluster Project has been initiated, consolidating ten licensed “Triangle” factories previously scattered across the Pearl River Delta into the Meizhou Industrial Park. This integration of resources adopts a “headquarters + base,” “research and development + production” co-building model, establishing five major platforms for quality management, product sales, product development, brand promotion, and park management services. By relocating the capacity of 11 million small home appliances to Meizhou and integrating, guiding, and upgrading, the project leverages the cluster effect, implements supply-side reforms, and promotes positive interaction and development between industries in Guangzhou and Meizhou.
