EUPA is the largest 3C retail chain in Taiwan, as well as the world’s largest production base for small home appliances. Relying on an international research and development team and management spread across the globe, it has become a globally recognized conglomerate integrating production and sales, with products marketed in over 100 countries and regions worldwide.
EUPA Group possesses a top-tier design and R&D base established in Germany, Switzerland, the United States, Japan, Taiwan, Shanghai, and Xiamen in China, alongside a trend-setting brand headquarters in Tokyo. Its flagship products, electric irons, and grills, boast the highest annual output globally, while its coffee machine production ranks among the top five worldwide.
These first-class R&D bases worldwide and the trend-setting brand headquarters aim for product quality and aesthetics, offering innovative designs that integrate with the concept of modern refined living. The company has repeatedly received design awards from China and internationally. The brand headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, focuses on brand planning and management. Its products are certified by multiple international certification bodies such as UL in the United States, JQA in Japan, CUL in Canada, CE in Europe, and CCEE in China. They are marketed in over 90 countries and regions across Europe, the Americas, Southeast Asia, and Japan, establishing itself as a globally renowned specialist manufacturer of small home appliances.
Established in 1993, its Chinese market headquarters operates service centers across 29 major cities like Shanghai and Beijing. It’s the first multinational corporation to be listed on the mainland, Taiwan, and the US NASDAQ.
By the end of 2004, EUPA had 114 chain stores in Taiwan, with sales exceeding 15 billion New Taiwan dollars and a membership base of 1.5 million. Encouraged by these achievements, EUPA expanded beyond Taiwan, replicating its Taiwan model in mainland China, adopting an open operating style, not employing salespersons, displaying goods by type and size, reducing discount rates, and focusing on cultivating long-term members. However, its rapid expansion led to losses, as analysts in the industry noted.
EUPA’s total investment in Zhangzhou is approximately 120 million USD, with a registered capital of 40 million USD. Located at No. 296 Jiaosong Road, Juemei Town, Longhai City, Zhangzhou EUPA spans 1.6 million square meters, stretching for 3 kilometers.
EUPA primarily manufactures small home appliance products categorized into two major types: Home Helper Series, such as electric irons, electric fans, and vacuum cleaners; and Gourmet Series, including grills, coffee makers, rice cookers, juicers, microwaves, etc. The company estimates it can assemble up to 180 production lines, achieving a maximum daily output of 400,000 units. By 2009, Zhangzhou EUPA aimed to reach an annual output value of 700 million USD, accounting for 80% of EUPA’s overall production, truly becoming a global factory for small home appliances. Its 17-year presence in mainland China saw EUPA’s emergence as a mythical success in investment and entrepreneurship, transforming from a small and medium-sized enterprise into a giant in the realm of small home appliances. Zhangzhou EUPA aimed to achieve a production value of 545 million USD in 2004 and planned to expand further from the base of 2008, targeting a business revenue of 12.5 billion RMB from the home appliance manufacturing business by 2009. The company aimed to transition from manufacturing to circulation, marketing, and distribution, envisioning a future as a unified 3C group combining production and sales. Throughout the journey, Wu Cankun, the founder, has upheld the values of “teamwork, integrity, innovation, and gratitude” while expanding the company’s horizons.
