The “Choinn” brand is a pet supply brand under Shenzhen Libangda Industrial Co., Ltd. The “Choinn” brand was registered in 1998 and is one of China’s early pet supply brands. At its inception, “Choinn” mainly produced a series of dog chew products, and later expanded to include pet grooming products, pet health products, pet snacks, pet care supplies, pet toys, cotton nests and bags, water and food utensils, leashes and collars, pet clothing, and other supplies. The “Choinn” brand now has more than 10 product series and over 300 items.
“Choinn,” as the name suggests, means to make pets happy. Empathizing with pets is the brand philosophy of “Choinn.” The brand positioning of “Choinn” fully reflects a specific emotional orientation; therefore, the advertising slogan and business philosophy of “Choinn” is “Love pets forever.”
The founder of “Choinn” is Mr. Zheng Hanwei. Before establishing “Choinn,” Mr. Zheng was engaged in import and export business. During a conversation with a Thai merchant, he inadvertently discovered that many factories in Thailand were producing dog chews. He paid special attention to this type of dog chew and found that the main ingredient was cowhide, and since China is abundant in water buffaloes, the materials were plentiful. In comparison, China had more advantages than Thailand. Consequently, Mr. Zheng Hanwei formally entered the pet industry and began OEM export processing in 1995. After accumulating many years of experience in the pet industry, Mr. Zheng realized that there were very few domestic brands in China’s pet industry at that time, and the products on the Chinese market were mostly foreign brands. Coupled with the financial crisis of 1997, Mr. Zheng decided to establish his own pet supply brand—”Choinn,” and thus Choinn was born.
In 2000, to expand his achievements, Mr. Zheng decided to open up a new sales channel for Choinn by entering the commercial supermarket sector. Walmart, as a national large-scale marketplace with high customer traffic at the time, became the first choice for Choinn’s supermarket channel. After efforts, “Choinn” smoothly became the first Chinese brand to enter Walmart.
In 2002, the daring and innovative Mr. Zheng made a significant decision: to adjust the product structure and increase the production line to meet the needs of the supermarkets. Choinn expanded from simple dog chews to a product range of over 300 items across more than a dozen series including pet bath products, snacks, toys, nesting and packing, cleaning and care, and nutritional health, covering almost every aspect of pet life.
