Yangjiang SHIBAZI Group Co., Ltd., founded in 1983, has evolved from the manual production of carbon steel kitchen knives to modernized, mechanized, and large-scale production of thousands of types of cutting tools. It is a comprehensive and large-scale branded enterprise that integrates research, steel refining, production, sales, and tourism. Its products are sold in more than 30 countries and regions, including China, Japan, the United States, Canada, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.

The group has gone through four leap-forward development stages:

In the initial phase of its establishment in 1983, it was affiliated with the collective small factory “Chaoyang Craft Knife and Scissors Factory.” It started as a small workshop covering less than 200 square meters with only 8 production staff and less than 20,000 RMB in capital. It primarily produced carbon steel kitchen knives.

In 1988, it separated completely from the collective small factory and established “Jiangcheng Xiangyang Household Cutlery Factory” as a private enterprise. It owned an industrial area of 2,000 square meters and had over 50 production staff. The annual production and sales value exceeded 500,000 RMB.

In 1997, it established the modern corporate structure of “Yangjiang SHIBAZI Kitchenware Co., Ltd.,” marking a rapid expansion phase for the company. The number of employees increased to over 200, and the annual production and sales value reached over 2 million RMB.

In 2002, the group underwent comprehensive development, leading to its rapid growth. It established “Yangjiang SHIBAZI Group Co., Ltd.” It had 6 subsidiary companies, owned more than 800 sets of domestic and foreign self-made machinery, had an industrial area and supporting facilities covering over 250,000 square meters, employed over 1,700 people, and achieved an annual sales value exceeding 200 million RMB.

Throughout its development, the group has undergone five major technological revolutions, solidifying its position as the “China Kitchen Knife Center.”

The first technological revolution occurred in 1993 when it transformed traditional welded knives into seamless integral knives, initiating the first revolution in the Chinese knife industry.

The second technological revolution took place in 1995 when the company developed innovative, diverse, and practical Japanese-style multifunctional kitchen knives, shifting the knife market from single products to a comprehensive range.

The third technological revolution involved the development and promotion of knife sets. The group introduced a transparent set of knives that embodied a “user-friendly” concept with distinctive Chinese characteristics.

The fourth technological revolution involved the transition from military-grade materials like 7Cr17Mo and advanced international stainless steel composite steel to civilian knife production.

The fifth technological revolution was the establishment of a special alloy steel plant for integrated steel refining, knife manufacturing, and technology aimed at the international high-end knife market.

The group has achieved rapid development through industrial and trade cooperation and economic complementarity, earning recognition from relevant authorities and society.
