The name “Huanghelou” is derived from the Yellow Crane Tower, one of the three famous towers in the Jiangnan region, located on the south bank of the Yangtze River in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The Huanghelou brand was established in the 1930s and is known for its high-quality tobacco. In 1995, the Huanghelou brand was reintroduced, and in 2004, the Huanghelou 1916 product was launched. Since then, the Huanghelou brand has rapidly risen to become one of China’s premium cigarette brands, alongside brands like Zhonghua, Yuxi, and Furongwang. Huanghelou is known for its slogan “天赐淡雅香” (Heavenly Gift of Subtle Elegance) and offers five major product series.
Hubei China Tobacco Industry Co., Ltd. has a history dating back to 1916 when it was founded as the Hankou Branch of the Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Company. It has now been in operation for over a century.
