Founded in 1928, one of China’s influential brands in the daily chemical industry, it originated from the Shanghai Huayin Detergent Factory. It’s a provider of high-quality herbal hair care products known for preventing hair loss. The brand is mainly engaged in the research and development, production, and sales of herbal hair care products, specializing in developing shampoo and hair care products using traditional Chinese medicine.

Several folded traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions, simple cooking vessels, an antique wicker fan, and a wisp of ethereal smoke together formed a small handmade workshop, which was the precursor to the current brand. Mr. Chen Qiyuan, the 21st generation descendant of the Chen family, was born into a traditional Chinese medicine family in Luoding, Guangdong. Mr. Chen Qiyuan was exposed to ancestral medical knowledge from a young age, inheriting secret herbal formulas for preventing hair loss and promoting hair health, continuously innovating, and establishing BAWANG Group, centered around traditional Chinese medicine health, hair care, and beauty.

Under its brand name “Bawang,” BAWANG Group has become well-known for its shampoo products, boasting professional quality and superior performance over 26 years in the market, achieving miraculous hair care results.

In 2006, BAWANG brand expanded its sales area from South China to nationwide, forming a comprehensive sales network covering the entire country. In 2007, with the market’s high recognition of Wang’s quality, the natural plant-based shampoo series was launched, further enriching the brand’s product line and deepening the Chinese herbal hair care culture. In 2008, BAWANG brand began sales in Hong Kong, Macau, and Singapore, marking the first step of its strategic deployment outside mainland China. In 2009, it introduced a new line of men’s care products, entering the high-end market for men’s hair care and aiming to become an expert in herbal men’s personal care. In 2011, BAWANG brand released the Essence Care Series, showcasing the allure of Oriental hair care with the new concepts of “Darkening,” “Nourishing,” and “Black Rejuvenation.” In 2012, the women’s anti-hair loss shampoo was launched after years of research and development, receiving much love from consumers and earning numerous positive reviews within the industry. In 2015, the Nourishing and Strengthening Series and the Everyday Anti-Hair Loss Series were launched, with new packaging designs and innovative formulas, receiving unanimous praise from consumers upon their release in the Walmart system.

In 2016, the brand introduced the new Natural Herbal Series with ginger and soapberry shampoos. The women’s anti-hair loss shampoo was reformulated to showcase new research achievements. In 2017, a plant amino acid series was launched for terminal channels, which became very popular among consumers due to its novel formula and unique packaging. In 2019, BAWANG Group introduced the new Wang Amino Acid “Little Black Bottle” series, using a fresh combination of Chinese herbs and amino acids. After thousands of tests and research iterations, from raw materials to formulations, from trials to final products, with 6200 consumer surveys and experiences, the series was designed to be non-irritating and without side effects, with up to 20 national and provincial patents.
