Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group Co., Ltd. traces its origins back to the “Yulin Quantang Industrial Cooperative” established in 1951. It is an investment company with a primary focus on the power system industry, operating complementary industries within its value chain. The company owns more than 30 wholly-owned, controlled, and joint-stock subsidiaries, with industrial bases located in Guangxi, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Sichuan, Chongqing, Liaoning, and other regions in China.

Yuchai Group is a national-level enterprise technology center, a high-efficiency, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly internal combustion engine national engineering experimental center, a nationally accredited laboratory, and a post-doctoral research workstation. The company has established four research and development centers in Yulin, Nanning, Suzhou, and Europe and collaborates with over 40 Chinese and international research institutions to establish joint development centers, creating an internationally advanced research base. Yuchai has independently developed eight core technologies, including combustion development, powertrain matching, advanced structural design, emission control, intelligent control, hybrid power, fuel cells, and reliability growth technology. In the field of engine research, Yuchai has pioneered the release of the first engine compliant with China IV, China V, China VI, and Euro VI emission regulations, filling several technological gaps in China. The company has undertaken over 20 national research projects, including the National 863 Program and the National Key Research and Development Program. Yuchai has chaired 15 international, national, and industry standards and participated in the revision of 77 standards. It has received numerous awards for its research achievements, including the National Scientific and Technological Progress Award.

In 2021, Yuchai ranked first nationwide in the evaluation of enterprise technology centers organized by the National Development and Reform Commission.

Yuchai was an early adopter of 3D printing technology in 2006, revolutionizing traditional processes and paving the way for innovative rapid manufacturing. In 2014, Yuchai, in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Engineering, established the only national key laboratory for advanced forming technology and equipment, known as the “Yuchai Rapid Manufacturing Base.” This initiative has created China’s first intelligent, no-pattern casting island, forming a complete industrial chain for emerging rapid manufacturing technologies.

Yuchai invested 3 billion RMB in the comprehensive upgrade of its China VI production line, creating an automated, flexible, information-driven, environmentally friendly “dark factory.” The product’s key characteristics are high precision, stable process quality, and an international first-class manufacturing level.

Throughout the manufacturing process, Yuchai adheres to a “zero defects, zero tolerance” quality philosophy and implements product lifetime reliability management. The product quality is stable and reliable, resulting in recognition with the National Quality Award and two consecutive nominations for the China Quality Award.
